Things that make me stop and laugh

Anybody that has been around me for more then a minute knows that I get crazy if I'm running late....for anything.

So a few days ago I'm trying to get out the door to go pick up Luke from Preschool. Things kept coming up like a very dirty diaper, lost shoe, changing car seats around and so on...I finally get Kolby and the dogs in the car and we race to pick up Luke. I jump out of the car and run around to the other side to get Kolby out.....

this is what I see..........

I had not even noticed that Skip had jumped in Luke's carseat and rode that way the whole trip.

I stopped and laughed out loud and grabbed my phone to take a pic. The look on Kolby's face is "what in the world is wrong with my mom laughing her head off" He apparently finds it perfectly normal for Skip to ride beside him :)

Treats for me!!!

Thank you Aunt Becca!!!!
Is there anything then getting surprise packages delivered to your house?
My wonderful aunt gave me the best recipe for sugar cookies and wonderful cookie sheets last Christmas. I LOVE them and use them all the time.
And look what she sent me........

Holiday cookie cutters!!! Well holiday plus a horse theme box :)
I love love them and can't wait to use them. I'll be making cookies tomorrow for the boys to decorate and take around to the neighbors for Halloween.
Thanks again Aunt Becca!!!!!

To Mikey with love!!!

Our weekend....

Our town loves a parade. We have them ALL the time. The one last Sat was for the sheep herders or some such thing. So we started out Sat bright and early by driving into town for the festivities.
Horses pulling carts that's nothing unusual....
But sheep running down Main street..... now that's something to see.
It goes without saying there is not much cooler for two little boys to see then real live sheep running down the road right in front of them. (love our small town)
After the parade it was off to the Pumpkin festival. Kolby was not really in the mood for fun. They had a little leaf jumping area and Kolby screamed like he was getting poked with hot needles when we put him in it. So Luke did the rest of the activities with dad.
Fun things like.... Pumpkin bowling

And trying to eat a doughnut without using his hands
Ok so maybe hands were used just a little bit. He spent the rest of the day covered in powdered sugar.

It was a beautiful day, much warmer then usual for this time of year. We ended the afternoon by going to Drew's birthday party. Happy birthday Drew!!!
Fun day for all!

Oh me oh my!!!!!

Whatever could have caused this mess????

A pack of stampeding elephants???? Or.............

Maybe two little boys..........

If there is mud to be found my boys are there in an instant. Lest you think our whole yard is mud, at the moment (I'm not saying in the spring its not) there is just this one little spot which just happens to be right up against the house. I can't really blame them, that light blue siding makes an irresistible mud paint palette. And as a helpful hint you can wash shoes a LOT and they still hold up. And can you tell Luke now likes to dress himself? Since I'm in no way a fashion diva I let him go for it. (as long as we are not about and about seeing to many people :)
Have a great weekend everyone!!!!!

Thanks Auntie Liz and Uncle Gary!!!

Luke LOVES his new coat!!!
The boys are just a tad spoiled by their aunt :)

So Luke is going through this thing...... when I have the camera in my hand he gives me the goofiest smiles. And the funny part is they are always different but always goofy in some way. This is the cheese smile with eyes closed look.

My boys.......

We like a lot of people are under a great deal of stress right now. Its strange we have just never seen times like this. What is amazing to me is that Dewey can go nights without sleeping go to work everyday and still come home and spend hours playing with the boys.
He took these pictures of them playing with his boots the other day.
They just melted my heart when I saw them. They LOVE playing with dads shoes.

And the bigger picture is the wonderful example Dewey is for them for a daily basis.

I can only hope that they will want to follow in his footsteps.

Stress or no stress who can resist smiling at this kid :)

Kolby really is the funniest kid, he cracks me up every day, and yep the "hat" he is wearing is a bowl, one of his favorites.

WORD OF THE DAY

Fundamental- I don't know about you all but I am so ready for this election to be done with. It's exciting as all get out, and hopefully when its done we'll be able to get our country back on track, but if there is one thing I am sick of, it's hearing the word fundamental.

Whoever gets elected I am writing them to pass a law that says the word fundamental should be banished from our language.

I mean fundamentally its a good word, but at it's fundamental foundations it can be fundamentally overused. This can cause a fundamental misconeption on the fundamentals of the word fundamental. wether you agree or disagree with me on this you know that fundamentally I am right, and that you should change your fundamentals and agree with me after hearing this word which from here on forward shall be known as the new f word. :)

A Little family history

This is my Great Grandfather, John Fox Warner. This would have been Luke and Kolbys great, great grandfather. I grew up with him living next door to us, and he was the man. Back in the day he was a school teacher who taught in the one room classes with grades k-12 all together.
This ones of my Grandma and Grandpa Warner. This is before I was around, but looking at the picture it makes me wonder if they ever in there wildest imaginations thought of the legacy they would create. Since this picture was taken, they have 6 children, and at last count over 25 grandchildren, and over 40 great grandchildren.

This is a photo of my dad when he was a kid. I recently got a ton of pictures from my Uncle Mark (Thanks mark!!!) who is doing a whole history on our family. Dads going to kill me for putting it on here but that's tough. You are the superman to our family, and you'll never know how much we all appreciate everything you and Winnie do.

This was at the recent wedding and it's the only photo we're both Luke and Kolby actually managed a smile and we're almost both looking at the camera. This is a very rare occurence. After looking at the picture, I don't think Stacey and I realized how much of an impact their grandparents would have on them. They absolutely think the world of them.

Grandma and Grandpa

Just saw this picture of Grandma and Grandpa and thought it was a good one to add. This was after a nice ride up in the mountains

Feeling kinda Sunday.......

So what to do on a cold Utah Sunday....
Playing in the snow comes first.
Isn't Luke's hat a crack up? He loves it. Kolby is still getting over his cold so he didn't get to play outside :(
Building a chair fort is a must
Its the perfect place to play cars

Have to fit in an afternoon nap with dad
Its always fun to play dinosaurs with Dusty (cat) and Bailey. (dog)
And last but not least is sitting by the fire watching FOOTBALL!!
Love love Sundays!!!!!

FFF= Favorite Fall Things

I had grand plans of driving to one of our canyons and taking pictures of the beautiful fall colors. But... as life goes Kolby was sick most of this last week. (poor little guy had a high fever for three days) So we didn't leave the house much.
But Luke did get to go on his very first field trip at preschool. The best part for him was getting to ride on "the BIG yellow bus". It was just icing on the cake that they went to a pumpkin patch and he got to pick out his own pumpkin. As soon as I picked him up he had to call Dad, Grandpa and Grandma to tell them all about it.
And gold star for me for not being crazy neurotic about my baby boy riding on a bus to a town a half hour away. Ok I was a little crazy but I stopped myself from following the bus :)

One of my favorite things about Fall is the cooler weather. And cooler weather means a fire in the fireplace, love it!!
A few weeks ago the "Boys" went firewood gathering
I'm sure Kolby was a big help

Luke hard at work with a clamp
Look at his serious little face, he doesn't take getting firewood lightly.
And our firewood pile. Dewey has been chopping wood every weekend. Woo-hoo firewood to last all season.

And another before and after craft pic....

Before........... One of my thrift store finds

And after........ Halloween decorations

I hope you all have a wonderful Fall weekend!!
