FFF= Black and White

These are some of my favorite B&W pics. We don't have a lot, I have been meaning to buy some nice photo software and then learn how to use it, but I have not gotten around to it yet. Its on the "list" :)

This is from last weekend. We did our Sunday "Family Adventure" day. We started driving south to see what we could discover. We found a lake we had never been to before.
This is Gunlock reservoir, Dewey and Kolby walked along the shore.....
While Luke and I played in the water/mud. Where ever you stepped you sunk a foot in the mud.Kolby sleeping on the couch a few months ago, couldn't you just squeeze his little cheeks
I love this pic of Luke, its from a year ago this month
And one of my very favorite pics....
Its from the Baby house in Kyzylorda while we were in Kazakhstan

Check out Sarah at http://kissthefrog4me.blogspot.com/ for more cute, B&W pics.

Have a great weekend!!!!

Luke's first day at Preschool....

I think I have mentioned a time or 10 that Luke has a very strong little personality.
Well these are my attempts at trying to get him to smile for me. I told him that since we were a little early his teacher might not be ready for us yet. We had just enough time to take some pictures. (all true by the way)

"Mom, mom a big bus"
"Mom, teachers ready, lets go"
I know this looks like a scared or worried look but really its his mad/frustrated look. Clearly he had places to be and could not be bothered with me taking his picture.
Just look at him with his little backpack on. (which he declined to remove when his teacher showed him where to hang it) He's pointing to his name.....YEA!! To my credit I only took this picture and didn't stay all day snapping shots :)
After school and as close to a smile as I ever got. He said he had fun and got to play outside. (who doesn't love that) He also says he is in the big kids class now. He's right they are big kids, he comes up to their shoulders, but they are all his age or close to it. Love my little guy!!!
I received my wonderful PIF from the amazing Marlene at http://reasonsipostto.blogspot.com/
Look at this beautiful Guatemala photo album she made, I love it!!! The fabric runner and angel doll are just perfect. If I'm not mistaken she sells some of these things at her eBay store, check them out for sure.
THANKS Marlene!!!

Boys night!!!

Well my baby boy has gone to his very first movie. Friday night was Daddy and Luke night. Dew took him to see.....
Star Wars Clone Wars

Luke was SO excited. We talked all day about how the screen would be really big and it would be very dark in the theater. How he would need to sit very still but he would get to eat popcorn.
He was just beside himself when they finally left. And to let you know what a sap I am, I got a little teary eyed watching my "baby" walk off to his first movie. I'm sure part of the problem is that he is not a baby and is growing up so fast.
But I love that he and Dewey could share his first movie. And even more that it was something Star Wars. Dew is a huge Star Wars fan and has great memories of going to see the first Star Wars movies as a child. How fun for Luke to have the same memories.
According to Luke, he loved it. There were apparently a lot of "good guys" and "bad guys" in the movie. And according to Dewey Luke sat through the whole thing without wiggling squirming, or doing what ever else he normally does after sitting still for more then 2 minutes.
So first boys night out, huge success!!

FFF= Friends with stuffing

I honestly have no idea how the boys have so many stuffed animals. For awhile Luke had to sleep with his horse Woolly (looks and named after one of our real horses) but he has sorta gotten over that. And Kolby normally could care a less about the stuffed animals.
We keep all the animals on the top bunk of the boys bunk bed. Awhile ago I let the boys climb up and play. I think it was a bigger deal since they normally are not allowed up there, and they were surrounded by toys they don't normally play with.
But as you'll see....happy boys

Have a great weekend Everyone!!! And for more cute FFF pics check out http://kissthefrog4me.blogspot.com/

Fitness update

We got a pull cart for the boys so we have started going for bike rides. I forgot how much I love bike riding. It has been a blast and a great workout (huge plus).
And the best part is there are near endless trails to ride where we live.
From our house if we ride North a few blocks this is what we see.

The bike cart is like baby Valium for Kolby. It takes him maybe 5 minutes and he is asleep. It doesn't matter how bumpy the dirt road is, how fast Dewey is going Kolby falls asleep.
(when we ride on the street the boys wear helmets)
We found this cool wind mill in a field we rode by. With the sun setting I could not help but stop and take a (or 10) pictures.

In looking at these pics, it looks REALLY flat where we live. I swear there are mountains to the East of us.
And it should be said Dew pulls the boys. I'm just in charge of getting myself where we are going and back. He makes it look so easy pulling them I thought wow there must be nothing to it. Yesterday we had a few errands to run within a mile of our house. (help our selves to my MIL AMAZING garden, check the mail, little things like that) So I thought "why take the car when I can ride Dews bike and pull the boys" so off we go on our little adventure. Before we had even gone a block, burning stabbing pains in my legs. To my credit the wind was blowing (I like to think very strong wind) towards us. But OUCH...... and ouch, ouch. I may be way more out of shape then I had thought. We did make it and got everything done. And I guess I am no worse for wear :) And I need to now give Dew a LOT of credit for pulling the boys on all the crazy dirt roads we go on.

FFF= Back to School

Its not back to school time for us yet. Luke starts preschool in a few weeks. He is so excited to go back, we are meeting with his new teacher next week and he asks every day when we get to go. He gets one on one work with his speech development. He is doing 110% better with his speech. For those that don't know when we brought him home from Kaz at 2 years old he was not talking at all. No baby talk no babbling nothing. He has come such a long way since then, he now uses full sentences. We are so proud of his progress!!
Since we don't have our back to school pics yet I was looking through our pics and remembered that I never posted his last day of school pics from last May.
So still on topic, just backwards :)

He was so excited to show me all his art work
He is such a ham, he just has to make faces in every picture.

Adventures with Grandpa

Last Sunday we got to have an all day adventure with Grandpa, the boys LOVED it!!
My FIL is amazing, he knows every little out of the way road and tiny town in Utah. He knows the history, "what when and who" for everyplace we went. We spent the day driving on dirt roads that I never even knew existed. We went to towns that I had never even heard the names of, these are places where you don't have cell service. It felt like going back in time. I love doing stuff like this, and I'm so thankful the boys get to experience it.

Grandpa showing Luke a wagon (see what I mean cool stuff)
I love old houses!! Dew showing Luke how to till the fields
We ended up in Pine Valley, a BEAUTIFUL little town with a picturesque little lake and canyon. We found a little picnic area and had a wonderful lunch. This little stream and bridge were right below where we ate.
I love these pics, all the "boys" looking for fish

Can you believe we live in a desert?
The boys both loved the water, it was hard to keep them out of it. Luke ended up soaking wet. But that's what extra clothes are for :)
The amazing thing is we were gone for 6 hours, most of which was driving and we were never farther then 45 miles away from our house.
Perfect Sunday!!! Thanks Grandpa!!!

LOVE the Olympics!!!!

We are HUGE fans of the Olympics!!!
We have had it on since they started. The opening ceremonies were simply phenomenal.
We screamed and yelled for all our countries.

I get so emotional watching the Olympics. It is amazing to me that the whole world is represented in one place. Watching the athletes with their extreme dedication to their sports to be the best in the world. I get teary eyed on every awards ceremony.
I had the unbelievable experience of working at the 2002 Salt Lake City winter Olympics. At the time I was working for the local phone company. They provided the telecommunication support for the games. I stayed in Park City for a month working at the Deer Valley venue. I was able to go to most of the events at that venue. Truly breathtaking to watch live. I also was able to meet wonderful people from all over the world. They are memories I will always treasure.
For me the Olympics no matter where they are will always have a magical quality to them.

FFF=Having a Ball

Ok....so this last week has been one of "those" weeks. The kind where nothing goes hugely wrong but nothing goes right either. The kind where now that its Fri I can breath a sigh of relief and say "come one next week show me what ya got".
In thinking about the theme this week "Having a ball" I think of ball.....which leads me to FOOTBALL!!!! Woo-hooo we love football!!! I went through some pics from last year, since regrettably football has not started yet this year. (But its getting close)

Dewey is a die hard Cowboys fan, I am equally devoted to the 49ers. So there has been quite the debate in the Warner house as to the boys. Unfortunately for me, Luke's Nana lives in Texas so she sent him this Cowboys Jersey. We have no family living in Northern Calif so I'm stuck trying to find 49er attire on my own. The funny thing about this pic is notice the Red and gold peaking out from his jersey. I put a 49er onesie on under his shirt :)

Even though we live in a small town we still have a University here. GO T-BIRDS!!!! We try to go to as many home games as we can. We were so excited to take Luke to his first game last year.

We didn't take into account a 2 year old's short attention span. Luckily we didn't even try to sit on the seat side, but instead took a blanket and sat on the grass. Dewey spent a lot of the game entertaining Luke this way..........

WOO HOO Swimming

Last Fri the boys and I went to St George to send the day with my family. My cousin (who is preggers and cute as can be) and her husband were up from Mexico. We were so excited to get to meet him. ( We didn't get to go to the wedding since it was right around the same time we brought Kolby home)
We all spent the day playing in their swimming pool. I decided that I could very easily spend 90% of my day lazing in a pool. Give me a lounger and a margarita and I'm fine! From the pics below and my shiny WHITE legs you all know I haven't been spending any time in a pool in quite some time.
Kolby was not as big a fan of splashing in the water as Luke and I, this is how he spent most of the day.
I love this pic, what a GOOF Ball, Luke cracks me up
By the look on Kolby's face you just know he is thinking "is this what you people call fun?"
Luke playing with Abraham
Luke and Rachel playing in the water jets
My Aunt took this pic, Luke is looking for more pool toys....
Playing in the water
Fun fun day, Thanks Aunt Becca and Uncle Dell for inviting us to come down!!!!
