Is it just me or does anyone else have total and complete Neurotic moments??

I woke up Saturday morning and looked around our bedroom, I thought "I can not stand this room one day longer".

A brief bit of history, when we bought our house three years ago it had been VERY neglected. Which was lucky for us, it looked so bad on the inside nobody else wanted it. We loved the location and the six acres and had a vision we could make it first livable and eventually quite nice. We have done a LOT of work on the inside and outside but our bedroom (other then new paint and carpet) is way down the list for things that need to be done.

Me: Babe can you grab me the chainsaw?

Dew: Um, excuse me did you just saw grab you the chainsaw?

Me: Yea, I hate, hate this bed I'm just going to make a few quick changes to it.

Dew: What do you want done and I'll do it?
(notice how he jumps right in to do it and doesn't question why? I'm pretty sure he knows if I get a hold of the chainsaw, there would be more then just the bed getting makeovers...closet...dresser and so on)

Me: (a little bummed no chainsaw action for me) Ok cut this off, this, this and this.

Dew: Ok, but I'll make the cuts here and not there so the bed does not fall apart and I'll use a saw not a chainsaw.....

After taking the whole bed apart sawing here and there and sanding and staining, I'm happy to say the bed looks 100% better. (Done completely and totally by Dew. Its still not my favorite, but in my defense I didn't pick it out in the first place)

Me: I just looked in this Feng shui book and it says our bed is in the worst possible position in the room. (I have had this book for years and never looked at it, nothing else in our house is in any way Feng Shui either)

Dew: (I'm sure wondering way he didn't come up with an excuse to get out of the house before I got out of bed) Ok where does the book say the bed needs to be? (as he is eyeing the door wondering if he can make a break for it.

These "little" changes involved us rearranging not less then three rooms in our house, we ended up working on putting everything back together until late last night. Yep that's right folks all weekend....

But..... in my defense I think it looks much better and everything is cleaner so it was worth it... right?

Hum.... I wonder why Dew was up and Running to get out of the house to go to work today?

FFF= Summer Lovin

It just recently started to get hot here so we don't really have many Summer Lovin pics from this year. These are from our trip to the park (before Kolby got his haircut). We are BIG fans of summer so expect lots of future summer fun pics :)

This picture is me trying to get Luke and Kolby to stand together for a picture. I thought, it would be cute to take pictures in the same spot as they get older. As you can see Kolby is not big on standing in one spot.
I love this picture of Luke from last year. There is this great little water feature at a park in Salt Lake City. Luke LOVED it. We are hoping to take the boys next week while we are up there.

Things to do while moms in the shower.....

Or.... Carnival I don't need a carnival I'll find my own rides, thanks!

This is what I found when I got out of the shower yesterday.... Tupperware cupboard completely empty..... everything was thrown all over the kitchen floor.
And whats that in the cupboard.... is it legs???

Yep this is how I found Luke. spinning around on the lazy susan. He was trying to talk Kolby into climbing in on the bottom shelf, but Kolby was having nothing to do with it.
So I think to myself "hum this is probably one of those times when I should be mad". But really how funny is that, to see a kid spinning around on a shelf? So while laughing I grabbed the camera, and as you can see Luke was only to happy to smile for the picture.
Life is never dull :)

Weekend Fun!

We spent Sat with our friend Sam and his kids having fun in the mountains. I love that we live so close to mountains, there is something so peaceful and relaxing about them. And its always nice to be able to get out of the heat and cool off for a few hours.

A few years ago we found these caves. Well they are technically Lava tubes but tomato tamato ;) Sam had never been through them so we went up knowing the kids would love it. We took Luke a few times last year and he had a blast each time. You need flashlights to explore them. Its so dark you can't see your hand in front of your face. That's the case with the picture above, we turned off the flashlights and Dewey took the pic. You can see some of the vivid colors in the background. And y'all know I would not crawl around a cave in a skirt...... its a skort, shorts included. It seems that I um...humph...gained a few pounds in the past year and its what fits, so there ya go.
There are several different caves to explore. On this one Dewey and Sam stayed up top with the "Little's" and I took Sam's two oldest kids through it. Parts of it you are literally crawling and scooting on your stomach, cool stuff.

I love the view from this vista, the red and white rocks with the green tree's are stunning. Kolby still has not got the hang of looking at the camera. I don't think we have one picture with all of us where you can see his face.

There is a beautiful lake not to far from the caves. As soon as Kolby saw he took off running straight towards it and then right in. It was a good thing I packed three outfits each.

This is Dewey helping the kids look for frogs. And the little black smudge on the right is Skip (our dog) running his fool head off, exploring everything.

Look at the smile on Luke's face, does it get any better for a boy then to hold an actual frog? (we made a big production of letting all the frogs go back into the lake....no frogs were harmed in the making of this picture :)

And finally we went to a campground to have dinner. We (meaning Dewey) built a fire and the kids got to roast hot dogs. This little stream was right next to our spot. Isn't it just beautiful?

It was such a fun day, just relaxing and playing with nature.

Kolby's BEAUTIFUL quilt!!!

Look at this beautiful quilt we received from Denise. I just LOVE it!!! As you can see in the pics Kolby does too :) Its so cute with all kinds of farm animals on it. Its hard to see in the pictures but there is so much work that went into this quilt, it amazes me.

Denise sent Luke a "Denim" Quilt last year that he loves to snuggle in. So we were so excited to receive this one for Kolby so he has his very own snuggle blanket. I just love quilts, they take so much time and effort to make, so much love is put into them. I really believe that you can feel that coming through when you sit with it wrapped around you.
THANK YOU so much Denise, it means the world to us, we appreciate your thoughtfulness!!

FFF= Daddy and me

This weeks FFF is Daddy and Me in honor of fathers day last weekend.

Kolby's not to sure what to think of riding horses yet. Hes so funny he gets the most serious looks on his face.
Luke love loves to ride with dad. He was just laughing but of course I missed that shot.

I love this pick of Dew and the boys, we have a great park in town that the boys just love to play at.

Dewey is an amazing father. He is always full of energy and never tires of running and playing with the Luke and Kolby. There is not much that I enjoy more then just watching my "boys" together. It makes me laugh that when Dewey gets home from work the boys just light up. Luke yells "YEA daddies home" and they both run to him. I'm sure they are thinking yippee now the fun time starts :)

Mr. Kolby in action

This kid is always running, somewhere, anywhere. Luckily we have a fenced in grassy area right behind our house so he can play to his hearts content back there. But I'm pretty sure that he realizes he is fenced in because as soon as we are outside the fence he is off and running. Last night we were all out at the round pen riding our horses. Knowing he is a "runner" we kept him in the stroller most of the time. But as soon as he was out of the stroller this picture is what happened.
Luke was happily playing with some dirt and rocks, Kolby ran right past heading for things to explore....chickens....horses...hay...cats.... whatever catches his eye. On a positive note, I'm notoriously unmotivated when it comes to exercise. Running after him is forcing me to get my heart rate up, thats got to be good for me right???

The boys were tagged!

The boys were tagged by Ellie..... "8 Cute things they say............
I'll start with Luke (since he is the one that talks :)

1. "My brother, Kolby"
Luke says this to anyone we meet, or anyone we stop to talk to.

2. " Mama whats that"?
I hear this at least 510 times a day

3. " No relax, walk!"
On Sunday we told Luke that we would all go for a walk after dinner. As soon as we were done eating Dew said he was going to relax for a minute. Luke started running around saying "No, relax" it took us a minute to understand what he was saying, then we burst out laughing when we figured it out.

4. "Riley come to my house"
He says this at least 5 times a day. Riley is his friend from school, he wants him to come over and play

5. "Daddies work"
We drive past Dewey's office everyday and Luke looks out the window until he can see it, so he can point it out.

6. "Oh tootles"
His current favorite show is Mickey mouse's clubhouse. He puts his hands around his mouth and yells this just like on the show.

7. "NO Kolbeeeeeeeee"
This is another one we hear ALL day long. He says Kolby with a very heavy emphasis on the E.

8. "I Love you"
We say this a lot but every night before bed we each point to our eyes then our heart then each other as we say it.

Now for Kolby....

He really only says two things, "Mama" and "Dada". Both bring a smile to our heart.
He also grunts a lot and points to everything. With all the random baby noises he makes I'm sure it won't be long before he is saying more words.

Now anyone who is reading this and has talking kids or kids just starting to talk, consider yourself tagged. Because there is just not much cuter then the things kids say.

Happy Fathers Day!!!!

I took these pictures this past week. I can't tell you how happy they make me. To me they are a perfect example of the amazing Father Dewey is. He is rolling around playing with the boys in the back yard. He had only been home from work a few minutes. Notice he is still wearing his business clothes. Without worrying about changing clothes or relaxing for a minute, he went out to play with the boys. Both Luke and Kolby LOVE wrestling with dad. (I think its a boy thing)

This is me and my dad. He was killed in a plane crash when I was six years old. He was only 31 years old at the time. Fathers Day was never a happy day for me growing up. It was the one day that I could not help but be reminded of what I had lost. It has taken me a lot of years to come to realize the loss is something that is with me always, but its also something that has helped make me the person I am.

I'm so thankful to Dewey for completely changing the way I look at Fathers Day. Its now a happy joyous day celebrating the amazing father he is. I have watched him with Cassidi for years and always known that he is a great dad. But its even more obvious now that we have the boys. I honestly could not wish for a better father for the boys.
Happy Fathers Day sweetie, We LOVE YOU!!
Happy Fathers day to my father in law! He has known me since I was 17 ( no need to count just how many years back that is) I'm so thankful to have him in my life. He is a wonderful Father and Grandfather and an amazing man.

Living in the country

Means no FFF (Favorite friday foto) today. Our Internet has been hit and miss all week. Its up now but I still can't upload pictures.
So instead you get a update......
We are finally starting to feel normal again. I am loving seeing Kolby smile again!! His laughter is music to my ears. I missed it more then I realized these past couple of weeks. He is definitely getting back to his carefree happy self. He and Luke are starting to play really well together. At the moment they are outside transferring the rocks that we use as a border to the back patio and into the house through the sliding glass door. They really do have toys outside to play with but they spend 90% of their time with the rocks. Go figure..........
It feels good to get back into the swing of things, today the boys and I did the ever exciting Grocery shopping. Hey I'm just happy to be able to get out of the house, so no complaints from me.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Our hearts and prayers....

Go out to our friend Troy and his family. Last weekend he was in a very serious four wheeler accident. He was life flighted to a hospital in Arizona. He is in serious condition but is hopefully on the mend. It will be a long recovery but he is strong and has an amazing spirit we know he will be fine. Dewey drove down Monday to check on him and see with his own eyes that he is OK.
It always amazes me to see the way people pull together when something like this happens.
Troy and Wendy mean the world to us....... Troy is one of the best people I know, I could go on and on but I think he knows how we feel about him.
Troy don't scare us like that again!!! We LOVE you!!!!

These are pics from our last Las Vegas Bon Jovi trip. Aren't Troy and Wendy cute as can be?

Cassidi's Party!

Cassidi's Graduation party was a blast!! Her mom and grandma did a wonderful job with decorations and food. It was so fun to have so many people there to celebrate Cass. It was a wonderful mix of both families. My brother Steve and his girlfriend came down to help us with Luke and Kolby. It was so nice, the boys got to spend time with their uncle (who they adore) and we could focus on Cass.

Billy (Cass's boyfriend) flew in from Seattle for the party. They are such a cute couple, I'm so excited, they both have such bright futures ahead of them.

Luke was loving the cupcakes, all the pictures after this one show just how much, he has blue frosting everywhere.

All five of us! I love this picture of the three generations!!

My crazy twin nephews, they were getting down with their bad selves singing Karaoke

Cassidi!!!

I know that I'm biased but is Cassidi beautiful or what? :) These are her graduation pictures, I just love them!! They show her personality perfectly.
I'm so proud of her!! And honestly a little in shock that she is graduating....... wow time flies. It seems like yesterday that we were going to her preschool graduation.

Her mom and grandma are throwing a huge BBQ for her graduation party tomorrow night. We are all driving up tomorrow for the party. (She lives a few hours North of us) We can't wait, we have not been able to see her since we brought Kolby home. Grandma and Grandpa are driving up too. It should be lots of fun, I'm sure I'll take a zillion pictures.

Bleh........ick........yuck

Kolby and I have been sick for the past week .........ugh!!! I can't even tell you what we have, cold....flu we have had it all. (I didn't even know you could have it all) We are both still coughing, which means neither one of us is sleeping for more then a half hour at a time.
Dewey has been AMAZING!! Juggling Work, running Luke back and forth to preschool, shopping, taking care of the house and us. So far he has not caught whatever we have.
If you ask Luke about being sick he will tell you "Luke, daddy and grandpa are not sick cus we're cowboys". He cracks me up I don't know where he gets this stuff.
Hopefully we are both on our way back to being our healthy selves. (we better be, we can't afford the amount of diapers Kolby if flying through)
