Quote for the day

Expecting life to treat you well because you are a good person is like expecting an angry bull not to charge because you are a vegetarian.-- Shari R. Barr

I laughed out loud when I read this, because I am a vegetarian and I do assume both.

Moving Backwards

Well we are no closer to bringing Kolby home and in fact farther behind then when I posted last week. We don't think our passport has been done yet, and we know that we don't have our DNA authorization yet. I feel like this process is a bad dream that I can't wake up and make everything ok. If only money grew on tree's, I would be in Guatemala right now trying to make things happen. Its beyond frustrating when I can't do anything and nobody else seems to be either.

News from our agency!!!

My darling hubby could tell that my nerves were fried. So he took it upon himself to try and call CCI. Well he was able to get right through and found out some promising info. He was told that Kolby's passport is being done today. If that's the case it means his birth certificate has already been done. So that is HUGE!!! He was also told that hopefully Kolby's DNA will be taken this Friday. Its a big relief to me to know that things are moving in the right direction.

Thank you Kim!!!

Our wonderful and amazing friend Kim gave us a brand new to us Bunk bed. In anticipation of Kolby coming home we thought we better move Luke out of his crib/converted to daybed so Kolby can have it. We made a huge production of him getting a "Big Boys" bed in hopes that he would spend the whole night in it. Normally he comes in and out of our bed all night. Which would not be that big of a deal except that he sleeps horizontal to me and Dewey's vertical. And I have no idea how he does it but also both kicks his feet and waves his arms around, so it doesn't matter which end your on, your not getting any sleep. Well all our excitement worked he spent the whole night in his new bed. YIPEEE, THANK YOU KIM!!!!

Way to go Luke!!!

Luke said his first full sentence last night.... YIPPEE!!! The magic words were "Daddy's driving grandpa's big truck". Dewey and I both looked at each other and said "Did he just say a full sentence?" Yep five whole words put together. (Dewey was in fact driving grandpa's truck at the time) As most of you know Luke is speech delayed. Last year when we brought him home he was not speaking at all. He is in our local school districts preschool twice a week to receive speech therapy. So needless to say we are THRILLED with his progress. A full sentence is big news for us.

Our emotional rollercoaster

Or more commonly known as International adoption. It has now been five weeks that we have been out of PGN. I should say that I really and honestly believed that we when we got out of PGN in Jan that we would travel the second week of March. (next week) If you would have told me then that we would be in the first week of March and not even have our DNA authorization I would have laughed and said "no way, that's impossible". Well and here we are..... I can say hopefully it will come any day now, I mean at some point it has to. But I have been saying "hopefully any day now" for four weeks. So I guess I don't know what to say anymore.

Um sweetie you have a little something on your face....

Dewey made us all fruit smoothies, yummy! Luke wore a smoothie mustache the entire time it took him to drink his.
We had a quiet weekend, nothing exciting. We had made plans on Sunday to go to a park and have a picnic with some friends. I thought it would be good for the kids to get out and run around. Last week the temperature got up to 65 degrees. So great idea right? We woke up Sunday to SNOW. It was cold, cold, cold and snowed off and on all day. So we changed the outside fun in the sun to inside sitting by the fire watching movies.
